Your first look at Skyview Little Drifter. I think she has everything it takes and may be staying here at Skyview? She is 1lb. lighter than her sister and that has been the deciding factor to this point. Time will tell as she tries to keep up with her littermate sister, Skyview Leading Edge. Look for this little gem to do some winning this Spring!

A little supplementing for our newest arrivals. Alyssa watches while her younger sister, Brookelyn, takes over feeding duties. I should move the litter into their room, removing a little chaos amongst them.

Ace had a great ground effort going through 45:00 when he buried up on this covey out of sight. Forced to ask for the tracker he was found standing these birds some 750 yards back. Unfortunate break, missing him on the way by ending his bid. Next up is the US Complete SE Regional in two weeks. He is right where he needs to be, as I hope he catches a break. A big thanks to Dennis Beauford for his handling duties.

A shot of Ace in a preparation workout prior to his first horseback stake under the whistle of Dennis Beauford. They are traveling to compete at the Sandlands this weekend. The three following weeks will be spent chasing his first Championship win. I am very happy with Ace and the type of dog he is, no doubt a championship caliber type dog, just needs that break. Good luck to you and yours this first month of 2012. Meanwhile back at home I continue to refine the bird manners of Showtime. She is doing a very nice job in her own right.

Ace buried up in South Carolina Pines. Dennis Beauford will be handling Ace in a number of Championships, walking and horseback both, throughout the Southeast over the next few months. We are very excited for this opportunity to compete in a number of stakes in a short period of time. Good luck to the both of you!

Skyview Triple Threat, backs his littermate, all Jetsetter by Skyview Iron Time. All pups are progressing well, most likely heading somewhere for the summer and a couple available as fall derbies 2012. These pups will win and look good doing it.

Skyview Showtime Girl, getting some bird work in preparation for her spring campaign. She is progressing nicely and well on her way to making her mark. She is in good position for Kansas Setter of the Year and in the race for Derby of the Year. Hoping she will make a three-peat for Skyview Setters we will continue to make sure we are ready.

16-week old Hard to Guard by Skyview Showtime Girl pups available. Current wormer and series of three puppy shots. These pups should make outstanding gundogs at the very least.
These pups are put together well with no predominant body markings. Could be introduced to hunting this fall and/or prepared for spring puppy trials. $600. These pups sire is a littermate brother to Thunderbird Jaxinabox, pictured below and our first Skyview to Skyview breeding.

Congratulations to Owner Dave Anderson and Handler Travis Gellhaus guiding Thunderbird Jaxinabox, (Jetsetter by Skyview Iron Time) to the callback at the 107th Quail Futurity. Although we came up short he had a nice showing. Jax has great promise ahead of him. Looking forward to the derby championships!

Skyview Showtime Girl takes first place in the open derby today in Piedmont, KS. She ran a strong forward race with one find. My youngest daughter came along and we had a great time!

Skyview Showtime Girl waits patiently on a single quail find during a polishing training run today. She is coming along nicely and will represent well this weekend as she opens up in the derby stake. My good friend Bob Brown graciously has accepted handling duties as I wait at home for the arrival of my new baby. Good luck to all and I hope Paige notches her frist derby win of the season, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Ace nails a wild covey today on a training run; trying to get back in shape to finish an hour, we had a strong workout this morning after the rain. Trial season opens up in two weeks at Eskridge, KS, then a quick run at Piedmont, KS and our first Championship of the season in Moline, KS. Back in action again at Piedmont for another Championship run. I hope this is the year we crown our first CH here at Skyview.

Our last litter of 2011 will be 6 weeks old this weekend. Moved from indoors to the kennel they have a good week of weather to adjust. It appears that we will have some decent size throughout the litter with a bunch of white puppies. This crop will be evaluated through the Spring of 2012 to determine their potential as trial prospects.

Our first look at 5 week old Skyview's Hard to Guard by Skyview Showtime Girl male pup. Several others are well on their way to standing on the barrel. Very clean puppies with good size. I am probably a little early trying to get pictures but the promise is there based on what I am seeing so far. I will post the entire litter within the next two weeks. 2 females sold, 6 males and 2 females available. Thanks for looking.

Skyview's Hard to Guard after flush and shot on loose quail. We hope to have him ready by Oct. 1 and the start of trial season. By the looks of it, I think we are well on our way! Bob has done a great job training Rambo and we soon will start to pattern him. Quick to condition, Rambo ran for the first time this summer just under 30 minutes in warm temperatures hanging out 550 yards. Fun to watch, he should be a good one! No pressure, Bob :)

Male pup from Ace/New Addition litter. These pups are 7 weeks old and full of fire! I have two remaining males out of this litter, this guy could be one of them? A rough summer for pups as these little guys have spent their entire lives to date inside the cool A/C.

Skyview Showtime Girl gets in a little birdwork this am after a week long break from the heat. She is expecting pups next week as I am sure you can see. With the fall trial season just around the corner I have been trying to get her ready throughout her pregnancy. She should be ready with some conditioning post weening. She will most likely be my only derby campaigned this year unless I can get Skyview Carbon Copy ready?

I just wanted to drop a note to congratulate Dennis Beauford & Scott Turner, Beauford Kennels, for the purchase of Skyview Iron Will...Dave Anderson, Thunderbird Kennels, for the purchase of Jack...and Bobby Roberts for the purchase of Skyview High N' Tight. All three of these dogs are littermates from our CH Jetsetter/Skyview Iron Time breeding. I anticipate great things from all of them. Meanwhile we are evaluating our third crop from this breeding as well as gearing up for our first litter bred from parents rasied at Skyview. Both are young dogs that should make their mark in competition this coming fall. Check back for updated progress as well as availability of puppies.

An older brother to the pup pictured below, Skyview's Hard to Guard, is busy getting ready for his derby campaign beginning this fall. Probably more suited for horseback stakes I hope to get him around some walking courses as well. Rambo was recently bred and we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of his offspring in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, Skyview High N Tight was awarded Derby of the year as well as Kansas Setter of the year for the 2010-11 season.

One of our three-peat breedings of CH Jetsetter/Iron male pups, call name Trip. He has a choke bore nose, stands his birds very well, and has been hitting all the right spots. He is not as wide through the chest as his brothers, but has plenty of leg! I am very excited to work this youngster and watch him progress. I hadn't planned on working them today but a rapid change in the weather cooled things off enough to stick a few.

Our latest setter in the string is proving to be this exciting youngster out of Ace and Iron. He has so many of the same qualities of his father it is scary. I am thinking about calling him Skyview Carbon Copy? The tools seem to be there, classy on the ground, high on both ends, naturally backs, and calm around game. This is the first pup held back out of Ace being bred to a trial quality female. My daughter may have picked the lucky one!

Skyview High N Tight finishes the spring trial season with a win, clinching derby of the year as a puppy! This win should put her in good position to claim Kansas Setter of the Year as well, matching the accomplishments of her kennel mate, Skyview Ace from the previous year.

Skyview High N Tight, finishes in third at the Walking Derby Classic over the weekend. She put down a good race, making several nice swings. Scout tallied one broke find, the only broke find of the stake, ultimately coming up short with bird contacts or else I am confident she would have finished higher. Congratulations to the winner and runner-up. We will most likely finish up next weekend in Eskridge. Scout has put herself in great position to win derby of the year, and she is just a puppy. She should be hard to beat for Kansas Setter of the Year as well. We will keep our fingers crossed for continued success this coming weekend.
Other news:
*Skydancer Skyview Ace was bred to a daughter of Pennstar this week. * Skyview Showtime Girl is in good position to claim puppy of the year honors. I will try to run her in whatever puppy stakes remain to reward her for her hard work. *Jetsetter/Iron pups look good with one male available for sale. *Still waiting for Skyview New Addition to be bred, we have some anxious owners patiently waiting...

Skyview High N Tight takes first in the Open derby, while Skyview Showtime Girl takes first in the Open puppy in Madison, KS over the weekend. Skydancer Skyview Ace made a good showing in the Shooting Dog Classic when a bird over the shoulder got the best of him late in the stake. I was very pleased will all their efforts. The only survivor over the weekend appears to be Scout. Ace has been favoring a rear leg the last two days, while Paige went in for a few staples to close up a laceration sustained at the end of her brace Sunday. Tentative plans are to enter Scout in the Derby Classic this coming weekend.

Skyview Iron Will takes the podium for his first open derby placement as a puppy. I am very pleased with his progression thus far. He is definitely a special dog. He has great conformation and is equally proportioned. Will carries himself very well on the ground and looks to dig up birds. We have pups on the ground with this exact breeding. Let me know if you may be interested.
